Meet The Team Jai Motihar

Born & brought up in the Hospitality industry, Meet Jai Motihar, Head of Sales, STAAH UAE who brings with him a bagful experience in Revenue Management, Sales, Business Development, and Business Excellence.


Tell us a bit about your career in hospitality/ technology and the journey to STAAH

Professionally born and brought up in Hospitality Industry, my love for travel and meeting new people across boundaries is what I like the best about this profession. I started my journey in 1998, with a Leading Hotel Chain, the Taj Group of Hotels, worked in several departments including Human Resources, Business Excellence & Revenue Management. Later I moved on to work with hospitality industry start-ups in 2010 (3 of them, Citrus, Keys, And Park Hotels). Post that I moved to Mahindra Group – where I was Leading Sales & Revenue Management for about 80+ Resorts in India and international.

In 2018 I joined IHG, a global hospitality chain to head the Revenue Function for South West Asia. In 2020 tried to explore my entrepreneurial journey by Setting up of Restaurant and a Catering Unit, and growing my family business, overall it was a great set up and was growing but due to the Pandemic, it slowed down.

As we say life moves on, with a positive mindset, I am now in UAE on my new journey with STAAH to help hotels grow their online Revenues with our innovative hospitality solutions, and increase STAAH penetration in the Middle East Region.

What do you like most about STAAH and your job?

The best that I love about STAAH, is the people, right from the top management to everyone in the organization I feel connected and every person is very well respected across the organization. What I like about my job is with the state-of-the-art hospitality technology and innovative solutions for the accommodation providers helping them drive more bookings. STAAH has some of the best, yet simple, and the most efficient tools to help the hotels increase their revenues online.

I am a family person, love spending time with them, and I am trying to be spiritual… I love to travel, travel, and travel…in my life given an option I can live out of bags for 365 days of the year, and that’s why I can say I belong to hospitality.
