Booking.com, Agoda and Expedia are the most popular OTAs in the region. Direct bookings via STAAH SwiftBook stay strong.
Global hotel technology giant, STAAH, has revealed the top channels across its network in United Kingdom. Booking.com, Expedia and Airbnb retained their spot in the top four with STAAH SwiftBook at the number two spot.
Camping specialist, Pitchup, jumped up four spots to rank at number five. Agoda, Hotelbeds and HRS all declined in terms of ranking by two, three and one spot respectively.
Following the global trend of increased corporate bookings, STAAH GDS was a new entrant to the list at number six and WebBeds at the number ten spot.
“Travellers showed a strong preference to book directly with hotels in 2023, despite OTAs regaining ground. STAAH SwiftBook maintaining its ranking at number two reflects this trend,” says Sarah Jones, Business Development Manager UK/Europe – STAAH.
Sarah adds that direct bookings growth is fuelled by guests seeing greater value on this channel. “STAAH’s advanced features that ensure the hotel website remains competitive, combined with smart packaging and promotions by hoteliers makes direct bookings an attractive proposition.”
