Travel and hospitality was not a choice for Imee; it was the only industry she wanted to be in, having inherited the skills and passion for travel sales from her parents.
Tell us a bit about your career in hospitality and the journey to STAAH.
I had an early exposure to travel and hospitality industry as both my parents were travel consultants. With this influence my journey for the hospitality started when I became a junior travel consultant in a small travel agency. My career progressed at Wotif and then Expedia before I came to STAAH.
Joining STAAH has brought me great joy and fulfilment as I continue to grow into an industry I truly love and have great passion for.
What do you like most about STAAH and your job?
The opportunity to provide solutions, build lasting relationships and make a difference are some of the many reasons I love working here. A key STAAH trait that the team shares, no matter which part of the world you are based in, is passion and a willingness to help each other.
Being part of a team that is always open and ready to help you succeed gives me a lot of confidence to push further and deliver.
Your hospitality success mantra…
“Stepping onto a brand new path is difficult, but not more difficult than remaining in a situation that no longer fits, or no longer exists.” – Angel Chernoff
We must not be afraid of change but instead embrace it. It is the only thing that is constant.
Outside of STAAH, what are your interests?
I love spending time with my family and my closest friends. I enjoy making them laugh and throwing silly jokes with them over meals.
I believe in keeping relationships and giving value to people. This helps me build trust and confidence in them knowing that they have a reliable person to reach out to. Its something I bring into my work and relationships with clients too.
Some funny moments in hospitality or with STAAH….
It’s always funny when they ask how to say STAAH. .. Star? Sta a? So amusing and a great way to start a conversation.
