To enhance flexibility and control in managing booking restrictions, we’ve introduced two new features on the API: Minimum Length of Stay Through and Maximum Length of Stay Through.
These features empower our connectivity partners to integrate smarter booking rules and deliver more precise inventory management for properties. Below is an explanation of each feature and its benefits:
1. Minimum Length of Stay Through
The Minimum Length of Stay Through feature ensures that bookings meet or exceed the highest minimum length of stay requirement across all dates in a guest’s intended stay period.
How It Works:
- For every night a guest wants to book, the system checks the minimum length of stay restriction applicable.
- It takes the highest restriction across the stay dates and ensures the booking duration aligns with it.
Example: If January 10th has a 3-night minimum length of stay (minLOS Through) restriction:
- Any booking that includes January 10th must have a minimum stay of 3 nights, regardless of the restrictions on other dates.
Use Case: Properties can optimize revenue during high-demand periods or special events by ensuring bookings align with longer stays, reducing short gaps in inventory availability.
2. Maximum Length of Stay Through
The Maximum Length of Stay Through feature restricts bookings to a maximum number of nights if the stay includes a specific date.
How It Works:
- For every night a guest wants to book, the system checks the maximum length of stay restriction applicable.
- It takes the lowest maximum stay limit across the stay dates to cap the booking duration.
Example: If January 15th has a 5-night maximum length of stay (maxLOS Through) restriction:
- Any booking that includes January 15th cannot exceed 5 nights in total, regardless of the restrictions on other dates.
Use Case: This feature allows properties to manage long-stay bookings, ensuring availability for a broader range of guests while avoiding extended blocks during peak periods.
Why This Matters for Connectivity Partners
By integrating these features into their systems, connectivity partners can:
1) Enable Smarter Restrictions: Offer properties more granular control over their booking rules, helping them optimize revenue and manage inventory more effectively.
2) Enhance Channel Functionality: Add value to the integration by providing properties with advanced tools to fine-tune their availability strategy.
3) Streamline Operations: Reduce manual interventions by automating complex stay restrictions directly through the API.
