70% Increase in Direct Bookings for Paihia Beach Resort & Spa

STAAH rings in a new era of efficiency for the Bay of Islands property with no double bookings and thousands of dollars saved in commissions in under two years.

The Place

Paihia Beach Resort & Spa is a 5-star property in Paihia, a historic beach town in the northern region of New Zealand. The only luxury resort in the Bay of Islands, it pampers guests with an award-winning day spa and a nationally-recognised restaurant, Provenir. Each of its luxurious rooms is kitted out with the best in class; and their guests both notice and appreciate this indulgence.

The Connection with STAAH and Stellar Results

Resort manager Lyndsey Morrison is not sure of the systems in place before STAAH, but says that the connection to STAAH’s Instant Channel Manager, ConvertDirect Booking Engine and using its website building technology has provided its guest with a seamless booking experience, and fundamentally increase their online revenue.

“Using this user-friendly and efficient system, we have been able to grow direct bookings by 70% since August 2014, saving us tens of thousands of dollars in commissions.”

The integration resulted in an extremely smooth management of the reservations process via bulk updates to an ever-growing list of channels, easy cross-channel comparison using the insights tool, and making better decisions when it comes to rates and inventory management.

“Besides, the whole process is so simple. We’ve hardly had any errors and double bookings are a thing of the past,” she adds. “Staff training on things like rate control, rate comparison and updating resort/ room amenities with upgrades is all easily done.”

Digital platforms hold centre spot in Paihia Beach Resort & Spa’s marketing efforts, with the property focusing on Google initiatives and SEO optimisation with great results.
