Iconic central Wellington hotel joins STAAH’s growing property portfolio

The Cambridge Hotel makes the switch to STAAH to grow online visibility and direct business effortlessly.


Industry-leading distribution and booking technology provider, STAAH, has signed up the prestigious Cambridge Hotel to its channel management and booking engine solutions. The partnership indicates STAAH’s continued strong trajectory in the New Zealand market where nearly 800 properties trust its products.

According to The Cambridge Hotel, they needed greater flexibility in set-up and management.

“Stable and high-performing distribution technology is imperative for any hotel operating in today’s dynamic online environment,” says Carissa Hancock from The Cambridge Hotel. “Given our central city location, we need a pricing strategy that is quite complex and dynamic, and so we needed a flexible, autonomous and easy-to-use solution that our hotel staff could adopt quickly.”

Its popularity extends beyond the country’s borders as it capitalises on New Zealand’s booming international tourist arrivals. The success of the 65-room property is founded on its personalized and unique service that includes expert advice on local attractions. The partnership with STAAH includes using the company’s Max platform – channel manager and booking engine. The former gives The Cambridge Hotel the power to reach audiences internationally with real-time updates of rates and inventory.

“It is essential we place revenue management at the core of our distribution strategy. Dynamic rate management is central,” says Carissa. “STAAH Max Booking Engine has empowered our staff to achieve exactly this. We can now better understand supply and demand, and optimise our strategy for greater performance.”

In addition to its advanced pricing and inventory management capabilities, STAAH Max Booking Engine is designed to convert through simple additions such as the WatchMyRate widget. A conversion booster, it turns lookers into bookers by showcasing comparative room rates on OTAs.
