Video content gives travelers a sneak peek into every aspect of a potential vacation experience before the guest even take off on their trip—and these days guests value transparency above almost anything else when making purchasing decisions!

Since the dawn of time, hotels have been trying to convince customers to visit them. But in an age where there are hundreds of thousands of options for people looking for places to stay, that’s never been more difficult.

You need to stand out from the crowd if you want people to come and stay at your hotel. So how do you do that? Well, one way is by using video marketing. Videos make it easy for people hailing from all around the world to get a feel for what your property looks like and what amenities you offer without having to travel there themselves or talk with someone who has stayed at your hotel before (and who may not be very reliable).

1) Talk About Amenities & Services

The next step is to talk about the amenities and services your hotel offers. You can go into detail here, but keep in mind that people don’t want to read paragraphs of text—they want to see it. If you’re not sure what kind of video content would work best for showcasing your amenities, consider doing a tour of the property (if possible) or a highlight reel that shows off your favorite spots.

Include information on how guests can take advantage of these features, such as:

  • $5 off admission at our local museum when they show their room key card at the ticket counter!
  • Free rides on our shuttle service between 8 am and 6 pm on weekdays!

2) Create a Video Tour of your Rooms

Show the Room in Detail: If you have rooms that come with an extra-long list of features, it can be helpful to show off each one. This is where the video shines. You could start with the bed and move on through every amenity, service, or feature (as long as they’re relevant) until you reach the bathroom—and even show what’s in there if it’s noteworthy!

Show the Room Wholly: You could also go for something different by filming a 360-degree view from inside your room without stopping at anything specific along the way. This might seem like it would be boring because nothing exciting happens during this type of footage, but really what makes this type of video interesting is watching how people react when they see themselves entering their room for the first time (or just seeing themselves).

Additionally, this kind of video provides useful information not available anywhere else; after all, who knows which side of town has better views?

3) Give a Look at the Local Attractions

You can use your video to give potential customers a taste of what they have to look forward to if they stay with you. For example, you could include footage of local events, attractions, and landmarks in the area that guests might want to visit during their stay. Or maybe there are some restaurants or bars nearby that offer great food and drinks!

4) Showcase Your Brand’s History

As a hotelier, you have a rich history to share with people. Your brand was born from someone’s passion for hospitality and desire to create something special for their guests. Share that story with clients and potential customers by showcasing the history behind your brand in video format on social media.

5) Create a Video About Your Food & Beverage Options

You can also showcase your food and beverage options by creating a video that shows off the foods that are prepared in-house, as well as those sourced locally. If you have a bar or wine list, you could create a video showcasing the speciality cocktails that are offered at happy hour.

You can also create a video about all of the different types of food available for breakfast, lunch, and dinner!

6) Share Behind The Scene Footage

Have you ever wondered how a hotel creates its magic? If so, then this video marketing idea is for you. Share behind-the-scenes footage of your hotel and explain the process that goes into making an unforgettable stay.

If you’re not sure where to begin, then start with what makes your place special: What are some of the unique features that make it stand out from other properties in town? How does your staff work together to deliver a memorable guest experience?

You might also share how guests can participate in activities at the property—like yoga classes or cooking classes—or show them what happens when they visit the spa or workout room after hours.

7) Share it on Social Media Accounts

Social media marketing is another key to a great video marketing strategy these days. Influencers promote hotels and vacation stays via videos a lot these days. Even you can follow this trend by sharing your videos on popular trending sounds.

Make sure you share your video content on social media platforms, especially on Instagram Reels, Youtube shorts or TikTok videos.  Add snippets of the videos, and text to describe what the video is about and don’t forget to use the right hashtags and trending sound beds for more views.


Hotels need to market themselves using good video editing and quality

Video marketing is a great way to reach new customers and build brand awareness. And while it’s easy to think that video marketing only applies to companies in the entertainment industry or those selling products, there are plenty of other business types that can benefit from this type of marketing as well.

Keep it short – Viewers are more likely to watch videos if they’re short and simple than ones that are long and complicated. If you want people to keep watching until the end, keep your videos around two minutes long or less. If you have large files, just use a video compressor to avoid losing quality.

Make sure your sound quality is good – You may not realize this but sound quality plays an important role in whether or not someone will enjoy watching your video or not – so make sure yours is good! Make sure to add sounds and music as well.
