Acappella Suite Hotel, Malaysia achieves a major direct booking surge thanks to STAAH

The Malaysian hotel saw a 125% increase in direct bookings in six months since moving to STAAH.


In operations since 2015, Acappella Suite Hotel stands amidst the dynamic landscape of Selangor, Malaysia. Perfectly positioned, it offers effortless access to the area’s attractions and serves as a prime spot for business travellers and organisations seeking a venue for team-building activities.

Their rooms are a perfect blend of luxury and comfort, equipped with all the amenities a modern traveller expects. On-site facilities include a gymnasium, swimming pool, dining and function spaces.

Low direct bookings driver the switch to better technology

Prior to STAAH, Acappella Suite Hotel was using a dated booking engine with a poor user experience, resulting in visibly low direct bookings.

As customer preference for booking direct surged post-Covid, it was imperative for the property to capitalise on this opportunity. Another driver for switching to STAAH was the need for local customer support. Having the right technology partners, who engage proactively to help properties achieve their goals, can make all the difference.

STAAH was a game changer

STAAH SwiftBook was a simple plug and use booking engine that helped the property significantly cut down the steps and time taken to book direct. The seamless experience, particularly on mobile, was essential to remain competitive with online travel agents (OTAs).

The STAAH booking engine also comes packed with conversion and inventory control features that make distribution management on this channel a breeze. Dynamically driven pricing, use of promo codes and stop-sell limits are among the many revenue optimisation features in STAAH. When combined with insightful statistics from the STAAH dashboard, properties can easily drive up yields.

Acappella Suite Hotel had high search volumes for their property on Google but few conversions to actual direct bookings. Recognising the opportunity, they adopted STAAH’s Get Google feature, which directly connects room availability and rates to Google, increasing rate visibility and driving more direct bookings from this channel.

Combined with using STAAH’s channel manager, this technology uplift has been a huge boost for Acappella’s revenue and visibility. Since switching to STAAH, total bookings over a six-month period compared to the same period last year were up 40% for Acappella Suite Hotel. During this time, direct bookings rose by 125%.
