Tell us about your career in hospitality and the journey that brought you to STAAH.
Curiosity about hospitality business drove me into this industry. While not a popular choice for a science student, I decided to follow my heart and pursued training from the oldest and very best institute in Indonesia. Having graduated as the best student from the institute, reinstated my decision and there has been no looking back ever since.
My journey so far, though not easy, has been very exciting and enriching. With roles ranging from administrator to managerial, in Sales and Marketing department at top hotels of Jakarta, my technical and interpersonal skills have seen an all new high. These skills complement my knowledge and experience, to connect with clients’ requirements, and offer right solutions.
My love for reading and staying updated on latest trends and news brought me to STAAH. The technology boom in the industry, and its impact on the business intrigued me. While the entry into this spectrum scared me initially, I am now completely loving the excitement here.
What do you like most about STAAH and your job?
What I like the most about STAAH and my job is the fact that we connect deeply to the hotel partners requirements and pain points, so as to genuinely help them grow their business and revenue. The joy of watching them grow and shine, using our suggestions and services is unexplainable.
What I also love here at STAAH is the team! Every member has been very helpful right from the start. The personal connect and warm welcome extended is truly family-like. Makes me smile again to be in the hospitality industry where the environment is always at its best.
What is your mantra for success in the hospitality industry?
“If you can dream it, you can do it”.
And I say this from my experience. I believe if we stay focused on our dreams and goals, and work strongly towards it, there is no way you won’t achieve it.
What are your interests outside STAAH? And do they help you do your job better?
I love to watch documentaries on Netflix and also the Ted Talks videos. I find these videos to be a great learning source, especially at times when you are stressed for time and find it a struggle to read books.
For a Business Development Manager, along with communication skills and persistence, knowledge of industry trends is crucial. And learning from various sources, like these videos, has helped my confidence, and I am up-to-date with the industry.
Also, I love kids! Volunteering at the kid’s ministry for over 3 years has been great source of fun and learning. Along with learning to be more patient, I find the leadership traits among children to be invaluable. Global warming and its impact on the future generation upsets me, and so, I feel it is really important for us to invest our present towards the next generation.
