B2B Travel Business Eyes India’s Lucrative Boutique Hotels Segment

STAAH opens up the small to medium-size hotels segment for Travel Patio, which enables resellers to book hotels across India at competitive rates through its portal.

“The small and mid-sized hotels – three to four star properties – are a fantastic addition to our portfolio,” says Navin Khiantani, Business Head at Travel Patio. “But being value driven, the margins on these are lower. Hence selling them offline sometimes requires more resources than the revenue they can generate for the travel agents.”

“STAAH brings in process automation resulting in time and resource efficiencies, along with an increase in revenue.”

Navin explains that the integration of their company with STAAH will allow travel agents to access fantastic rates and commissions through a single Travel Patio login. Booking online through this new system will definitely be easier and time-saving.

“Another benefit of the partnership”, Navin says, “is the in-roads STAAH provides to us in order to get the small and medium Indian properties on board.”

Since the completion of the integration, Travel Patio has signed up numerous properties around India. “We currently list around 500 properties. The goal is to get at least 800 in our kitty so our travel resellers have easy access to a wider selection of properties at great rates,” says Navin. The integrated system featuring these properties will be live to travel resellers once Travel Patio is closer to its goal.

“More and more travellers, even those who can afford luxury, are opting to stay in affordable hotels. The reason for this shift includes the rise of the affluent middle class, who travel more often and seek authentic local experiences that boutique properties are associated with,” says Tarun Joukani, Managing Director, STAAH India Ltd. “By linking them to another channel via Travel Patio, we’re serving a market demand that is bound to beneficial for all involved.”

Travel Patio is a B2B system that enables travel resellers to book Indian hotels at competitive rates. They also market hotels, and are Global Sales Agent for various hotels to increase their visibility and sales. The company is already working with most five star properties and top brands in the Indian hospitality sector. It also offers other ground products such as cars, tours and packages.
